Editing Cells

The easiest way to change the text or number in a cell is to click the cell and then type right over the contents. But if you have a formula or extensive text in the cell, you might prefer to edit the existing contents to avoid retyping the whole entry.

To edit data in a cell:

1.
Click the cell and then type over its contents (Figure 11.8).

Double-click the cell to position an insertion point within the cell contents (Figure 11.9).

2.
Edit the contents as though you were editing text in Word.

3.
Press Enter to enter the revision in the cell.
