Typing Data into a Cell

You can enter text, a number, or a formula into each cell in a worksheet. You enter text to create a label, such as a column heading. You enter a number to provide something with which to calculate, and you enter a formula to carry out the calculation.

To type data in a cell:

1.
Select the cel.

2.
Type text, a number, or a formula (Figure 11.6).

Move to the next cell (Figure 11.7).

The data is entered in the previous cell automatically.
