Editing Text

Using Word to prepare a document gives you the freedom to easily edit its text.

To insert new text:

1.
Position the insertion point where you want the text to appear.

2.
Start typing (Figure 4.10).

To delete text:

  • Press Backspace to delete characters to the left of the insertion point (Figure 4.11).

    Press Delete to delete characters to the right of the insertion point (Figure 4.12).

To replace existing text:

1.
Select the text.

2.
Type new text in its place (Figure 4.13).

Tips

  • To move or copy text, use the drag-and-drop method.

  • Double-click to select a word or triple-click to select an entire paragraph.
