Entering Text

Typing in Word is just like typing on a typewriter except that you do not press Enter at the end of every line. When the insertion point reaches the right margin, it wraps automatically to the next line. You press Enter only to start a new paragraph.

Tips

  • Word uses a red wavy underline to indicate a possible misspelled word and a green wavy underline to indicate a possible grammar problem.

  • Word automatically corrects many common typos—for example, when you forget to capitalize the first word in a sentence or typing “teh” instead of “the” (Figure 4.7).
