Starting a Document Using a Wizard or Template

When you start a new document by choosing General Templates in the Task Pane, you can choose a template in the Templates dialog box. A wizard guides you through a series of steps to help you create a document (Figure 4.4).

To start a document using a wizard or template:

1.
From the File menu, choose New.

In the Task Pane, click General Templates. (Figure 4.5).

In the Templates dialog box, click the tab corresponding to the type of template you want, and then double-click a wizard or template icon to open the template (Figure 4.6).

Tip

  • When you’re on line, you can obtain additional document templates by clicking Templates On Microsoft.com in the Task Pane. This takes you to the Microsoft Office Template Gallery, which contains templates in a dozen categories.
