Adding a Field to the Table in Design View

However the table was created, you can add a field in Design view.

To add a field to a table:

1.
On the Tables tab of the Database window, choose a table and click the Design button (Figure 31.22).

In the Table window, click a blank row in the Field Name column.

3.
Enter a field name and press the Tab key to move to the next column.

4.
Choose a data type from the drop-down list in the Data Type column (Figure 31.23).

5.
Press the Tab key to move to the next column and enter a description for the field in the Description column (Figure 31.24).

6.
Save the changes to the table design.
