Chapter 30. Creating a Database > Saving a New Database

Saving a New Database

When you create a new database, Access prompts you to save it as your first step.

To save a new database:

1.
In the File New Database dialog box, which is displayed automatically, select the folder for the new database (Figure 30.7).

2.
Type a name for the new database in the File Name box.

3.
Click Create.

After the database has been saved, the Database window displays lists of the objects (tables, forms, reports, and other items) that constitute the database. It also provides buttons you can use to create a new object, open an object, or modify the design of an object. Because this is a new database, each list contains only the tools for creating an object (Figure 30.8).
