Stationery Pads

A stationery pad is a document used as a form for creating similar documents. It's like a template—you open and modify it to suit your specific needs. When you save it, it automatically prompts you to give it a different name, making it very difficult to accidentally overwrite the original file.

To turn an existing document into stationery

1.
Select the icon for the document that you want to turn into stationery (Figure 46).

Choose File > Get Info > General Information ( Figure 47) , or press . The Info window for the file appears.

Turn on the Stationery Pad check box (Figure 48).

Close the Info window.
