Chapter 13. Using Sherlock 2 > Searching for People

Searching for People

If you have Internet access, you can use Sherlock to find the e-mail address and other contact information for people you know. This feature searches the entries in several popular e-mail directories to find matches.

To search for a person's e-mail address

1.
With Sherlock active, choose Find > Find People (Figure 5) or press to display Sherlock's People channel (Figure 43).

2.
Enter the complete name for the person in the edit box near the top of the window.

3.
Turn on the check box beside each search site you want to use to search.

4.
Click the magnifying glass button to begin the search. Sherlock searches the directories you selected, displaying its status while it works.

5.
After a moment, the matches begin to appear. You can begin working with matches immediately or wait until Sherlock has finished searching (Figure 44).

6.
To get all the information about a matched item, click it once. The information appears in the area beneath the list (Figure 45).
