Troubleshooting Printing Problems

When a printing problem occurs, Mac OS can often give you hints to help you figure out why. Here are some examples:

  • A dialog box like the one in Figure 78 appears when your computer can't find the selected printer. Check to make sure the printer is properly connected and turned on.

  • A dialog box like the one in Figure 79 appears when your printer is out of paper. Add paper!

  • The desktop printer's print queue window can often provide information about the printer's status. In Figure 80, the printer is off line; touching a button on the printer solves the problem.
