DialAssist

DialAssist is a control panel that you can use to set up advanced dialing options. You can then use these options with Remote Access to dial in to other computers or an ISP.

To configure DialAssist

1.
Choose Apple menu > Control Panels > DialAssist (Figure 1) to display the Dial-Assist window (Figure 77).

Enter the area code from which you are dialing in the City/Area Code edit box.

Choose the country you from which you are dialing from the Country pop-up menu.

If necessary, choose a dialing prefix from the Prefix pop-up menu. (A Prefix is dialed before the phone number you are calling and is commonly used to access an outside line from a business or hotel.)

5.
If necessary, choose a long distance dialing prefix from the Long Distance Access pop-up menu. (A Long Distance Access code is dialed after the prefix but before the number you are calling and is usually the number 1.)

6.
If necessary, choose a dialing suffix from the Suffix pop-up menu. (A suffix is dialed after the number you are calling and is commonly used for calling card or credit card numbers.)

7.
Close the DialAssist window to save your settings.
