Solve It! Problems with Files

When You Can't Locate a File

Symptoms:

You are looking for a file that you are fairly certain should be on your disk, but it does not seem to exist. More specifically, one of the two following situations may sound familiar to you.

You Can't Find It in the Finder

You look for a file from the Finder, navigating through all the folders on the desktop, but you are unable to locate the file. Usually, these missing files are document files. You are less likely to lose track of an application, but it can happen.
