Sleep Problems

Symptoms:

  • The Macintosh automatically goes to sleep sooner (or later) than expected or does not go to sleep at all.

  • A Macintosh freezes or has a system error immediately before sleep or immediately after waking up from Sleep.

Causes:

Normally, you put a Mac to sleep by selecting the Sleep command from the Finder's Special menu, pressing the Power button (and then clicking the Sleep button in the alert box), using other keyboard shortcuts (such as Command-Shift-0), or simply closing the lid of a portable.
