PCI Slots

PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) slots are on the logic board of most of the recent desktop Macs. There will be at least three of them.

PCI slots are used to hold PCI cards. These cards are like mini-logic boards and act to extend the functionality of the computer. Common examples include graphics cards such as ATI's XCLAIM VR card (for increased graphic speed and improved 2D and/or 3D rendering), DOS compatibility cards, and SCSI cards (described more in Fix-It #14).
