Using My Computer to Fiddle with Files and Folders 61 System Tasks--The icons in this section initiate broad, system-level actions. For example, in My Computer, this section includes the Add or remove programs icon for installing or unin- stalling software. Windows Wisdom Although my definition of a folder as a slice of a disk used for storage is accurate, Windows takes this idea of storage to great lengths. That is, in the Windows worldview, anything that can store anything is considered to be a folder. So even though My Computer isn't technically a slice of any disk, it's treated as a folder because it stores various icons. File and Folder Tasks--The icons in this section run commands related to files and folder (such as renaming a folder or deleting a file). Other Places--The icons in this section represent other folders on your computer.
