To get this dialog box on the desktop, use either of the following techniques: · Right-click an empty section of the desktop and then click Properties in the shortcut menu. · Select Start, Control Panel, Appearance and Themes, Display. Changing the Desktop Background It's true that the desktop is usually hidden, particularly if, like me, you prefer to run your programs maximized. Still, there are plenty of times when the desktop is visible, such as at startup and when you close your programs.
