Graphics Gadgetry: Working with Scanners and Digital Cameras 101 Figure 9.1. The Scanners and Cameras window contains icons for each imaging device installed on your system. You should also know that Windows XP considers a digital camera to be a type of file storage device. This makes sense because a digital camera uses some kind of memory module or disk to store the digital photos you've taken. The kicker is that since the camera stores files, Windows XP treats it as a folder attached to your computer, so it appears in My Computer, as shown in Figure 9.2. Later in this chapter I'll show you how to use My Computer to get at the images stored in your camera.
