Chapter 20. Publishing to the Web or CD > Publishing a Presentation to CD

Publishing a Presentation to CD

A new feature in PowerPoint 2003 is the ability to create a self-contained CD that contains the presentation and a copy of a utility called PowerPoint Viewer. This utility enables any computer to display a PowerPoint presentation even if PowerPoint isn’t installed.

For this feature to write directly to a CD, you must have a writeable or rewriteable CD drive and an operating system that supports writing to CD (such as Windows XP). If you don’t have them, you can still package the presentation for CD and save the package to your hard disk. You can then copy the files to another disk later.
