Chapter 4. Edit > Edit Redo

Edit Redo

The Edit Redo command reapplies a change that has been undone in the worksheet. For example, if you type "12.45" in cell A1 and then select the Undo option to remove it, Edit Redo or Ctrl+Y will place the value back in the cell. Just like the Undo option, Redo restores changes in reverse order by starting with the most recent change, then the prior reversed change, and so on.

The Redo command is only available immediately after you undo something. As soon as you make additional edits, the Undo command grays out. If there are no actions that can be redone, the menu option will say Can't Repeat and also will be grayed out. This will be the case anytime the last action performed was not an undo. If you redo more commands than you intended, you can use Edit Undo to reverse the Redo command.

As with the Undo command, you can select the Redo icon on the toolbar. It performs the same action as Edit Redo. If you need to redo several recent undo actions you can select the Down Arrow button next to the Redo icon and highlight the actions that you want to redo, just like the Undo command.
