Printing a document Setting Printer Properties The Properties button on the Print dialog (see Figure 4-16 earlier in this chapter) is used to configure global printer settings for all documents printed in Word, and opens a separate dialog box like the one shown in Figure 4-17. This dialog varies depending upon the type of printer, but it usually has options for configuring paper size and orientation, paper source, and graphics. The tabs on the Properties dialog duplicate some of the tabs found at My Computer Printers any printer right-click Properties (actually all tabs except General, Details, and Shar- ing should be in both places). These two dialogs are not the same, however. Settings made in Word using File Print Properties override the settings made in My Computer Print- ers for Word documents only. Documents printed in other pro- grams or documents still use settings configured in My Com- puter Printers. 120 | Chapter 4:File
