Protecting Sensitive Files

With the increasing popularity of flexible work hours and job-sharing, you might have to share your computer with a co-worker. Or, if someone else has rights to your folders on the network, you might want to protect sensitive files.

There are two levels of security in WordPerfect: read-only and password-protected. If you specify a file as read-only, someone else can open the file, but he or she can't save it back under the original name. In other words, the person can't save any changes to the file. The drawback to this approach is that a savvy user could edit the properties for a file and remove the read-only attribute.
