Nearly any repetitive formatting task can be accomplished more easily and with more consistency by using styles. One simple example is a product list, such as the one shown in Figure 9.24. Each item in the list has a name, a part number, and a description. Suppose you want to set off each element with a different font, style, size, and color. You also want to make it easy to type the entries, chaining one style to the next.
