Changing Margins

Believe it or not, you can make your document easier to read by adjusting the margins. A wider margin creates more whitespace around the text and reduces the number of words on a line. The shorter the lines, the less likely the reader is to lose his or her place.

On the other hand, if you're trying to reduce the number of pages, you can make the margins smaller so that you can fit more on a page. When you use headers and footers, for example, you might want to set the top and bottom margins to 1/2 inch.
