Deleting a Cell or Range

If you need to delete only one cell or a range to avoid trashing any surrounding data, follow these steps:

1.
Select the cell or range you want to delete.

2.
Choose Edit, Delete. Excel displays the Delete dialog box, as shown in Figure 1.21.

3.
Click either Shift Cells Left or Shift Cells Up, as appropriate.

4.
Click OK. Excel deletes the range.
