Using the Audit Trail

Your company accountant will love this feature. The audit trail provides a summary of all the transactions that have been entered in your QuickBooks company file, who entered them, and when they were entered. All you have to do to use this feature is turn it on. The Audit Trail works completely in the background, keeping track of all the transactions. When you're ready, you can produce a report that shows exactly what has been going on in your company.

Turn On the Audit Trail Feature

Select Preferences from the Edit menu.

Click the Accounting option.

Click the Company Preferences tab.

Check the Use Audit Trail box.

Click OK.
