Part 6. Managing Your Budget

Part 6. Managing Your Budget

You've set up all your accounts, entered all your bills and deposits, and determined what your cash-flow projection looks like. By now, you should have a really good idea of how your finances look and where you need some help. Now would be a good time, then, to talk about creating and maintaining a budget.

Setting up a budget helps you control your income, bills, and expenses. You can allocate funds for everything from paying bills and planning for a family vacation to paying for school lunches and everything in between. Microsoft Money allows you to update income or account categories, add new income, and update or create categories and sub-categories with the costs of your living expenses. The categories and sub-categories appear beneath the budget groups that Money uses to organize all your financial information.
