Chapter 12. Using Outlook with Other Programs > Using the Office Clipboard

Using the Office Clipboard

As you copy and paste items in Outlook you are actually using the Office Clipboard, which is an area of memory reserved for those selections. What you might not know is that the selections you copy and paste while working with other Office applications are available to you in Outlook. You can see what is on the Clipboard by opening the Office Clipboard task pane. The selections stored on the Clipboard remain only for the current session.

Copy and Paste Items

Open a file in an Office application, and then select what you want to copy.

Click the Edit menu in the Office application, and then click Copy (or click the Copy button on the toolbar if available).

In Outlook, move to the location where you want to paste the item.

Click the Edit menu, and then click Paste (or click the Paste button on the toolbar if available).
