Marking XML Data in a Word Document

After an XML Schema has been attached to a document and made active, you can mark data in the documents as XML according to the rules of the Schema. This allows extraction of the data from the document in XML format in a standardized way. The XML data can then be used in other applications that also support XML. Having data represented in a standard way, using XML and XML Schemas, allows for the easy interchange of data. Data, in XML format, is currently being used in such fields as medicine, science, law, engineering, and mathematics.

To mark data in a Word document as XML, do the following:
