Chapter 11. Working with Graphics > Moving and Sizing Images

Moving and Sizing Images

Rarely, if ever, does Word insert an image exactly where you want it, in the exact size that you need. Therefore, the next thing you need to learn is how to move and size the image.

Before you can change the size or position of an image, you have to select it. How? Just click it. When you do, a rectangle appears around the picture. The rectangle has eight black boxes called sizing handles. If you click elsewhere in the document, you deselect the graphics box and the handles disappear. When you click an image, you select the object, and the sizing handles reappear.
