Editing Styles

Using the same techniques you learned in the preceding section on creating your own styles, you can edit your styles and make adjustments to them. You can also edit the default template, which contains the formatting codes for all new documents. The default template is the key to setting up Word just the way you like it.

Revising Your Styles

As mentioned previously, after you create a style and apply it to some text, you can make changes to that style, and those changes are automatically reflected in any text to which the style has been applied. This is the real strength of the Styles feature—the ability to tweak the formatting and have the changes reflected immediately in the document.
