Chapter 16. Creating and Running Macros > Assigning Macros to Shortcut Keys, To...

Assigning Macros to Shortcut Keys, Toolbars, and Menus

If you find yourself running the same handful of macros over and over again, consider assigning them to a menu, shortcut key, or toolbar. You’ll avoid repeating the menu commands to open the Macros dialog box and the process of selecting the macro from the list. I find myself using shortcut keys because my hands are already on the keyboard, so most of my macros are assigned to a keystroke combination. Your habits may be different, so choose whichever method is most convenient for you.

Assigning Macros to Shortcut Keys

When you create a new macro, you have the option of selecting a shortcut key in the Record Macro dialog box. If you didn’t assign a shortcut key when you created the macro, you can do it later using the Customize dialog box.
