Chapter 7. Creating Drawing Objects > Using WordArt Objects

Using WordArt Objects

Microsoft’s WordArt feature is a hybrid of graphics, text, and drawing designs. To insert a word or title as a WordArt object, follow these steps:

1.
Click the WordArt button. PowerPoint displays the WordArt Gallery (see Figure 7.16).

Figure 7.16. WordArt provides predesigned shapes and colors that make text really stand out.

2.
Select a style that generally matches what you’re looking for. If none seem quite right, start with something close. Click OK, and PowerPoint displays the Edit WordArt Text dialog box.

3.
Replace “Your Text Here” with your word or title. Choose a font, font size, and bold or italic.

4.
Click OK to insert the WordArt object onto a slide (see Figure 7.17).

Figure 7.17. WordArt images are particularly useful as a title or the main idea on a slide.
