Chapter 7. The Calendar > Using Calendar Items

Using Calendar Items

Three types of calendar items are used with Outlook calendars:

  • Appointments— Activities scheduled for a specific time frame. Appointments don't require that other people agree to attend the activity.

  • Events— All-day appointments. Events are assumed to begin when your work day begins and end at the end of your work day. You will learn how to set your work day hours in the “Setting Calendar Options” section later in this chapter.

  • Meetings— Appointments that others are scheduled to attend. Meetings are scheduled with other people and can have required and optional attendees.
