Chapter 7. The Calendar > Sending Calendar Information

Sending Calendar Information

There are three ways to make calendar information available to other people who don't share your calendar. You can send the calendar information as an Outlook item to someone else who uses Outlook, you can send the information using the iCalendar Internet calendar standard, or you can publish your calendar information as free/busy information on the Internet or a local network. You will learn about publishing free/busy information in Chapter 21.

To send an Outlook appointment, meeting, or event to another Outlook user as an Outlook item, select the item you want to send and select Actions, Forward. A new e-mail message is opened with the calendar item included as an attachment to the e-mail message. The subject of the e-mail is set to the subject of the calendar item with the forwarding indicator FW: placed at the beginning of the subject. The recipient of the e-mail can open the attachment and save it to add the item to his or her calendar.
