Chapter 2. Outlook from the Beginning > Using Outlook Profiles

Using Outlook Profiles

Outlook keeps all your settings in one or more profiles. The default profile, named Outlook, is the only profile you will have unless you create additional profiles. If you create additional profiles, you can maintain different settings and e-mail accounts for each profile. For example, if you sometimes work from home, you can keep your work and personal e-mail accounts, settings, and data file separate. Microsoft Exchange server allows you to log in to only one Exchange server in each profile. If you work with more than one Exchange server, you will need separate profiles.

tip

By creating separate Outlook profiles for each Outlook user, you can maintain separate Outlook data and settings in a multi-user environment.
