Editing Text by Using Drag-and-Drop

You might not realize it, but you can use the mouse to move and copy text in Word. To move some text, you just highlight the text and drag it into its new location by using the mouse. To copy the text rather than move it, you hold down the Ctrl key while you drag the text.

Word enables drag-and-drop text editing by default. If you don’t use this feature, you might want to turn it off to prevent unwanted text moves when you are highlighting text. Here’s how you turn it off:
