Controlling Look and Feel by Using a Slide Master

A slide master is used to control the fonts, colors, and other styles globally across all slides in a presentation. By working with a slide master, you can change the look of all the slides in a presentation from a central location. A slide master allows you to maintain consistency across a presentation.

To work with a slide master, you select View, Master, Slide Master to open the Slide Master view (shown in Figure 23.9). The presentation in Figure 23.9 has two slide masters; holding the mouse cursor over each slide master in the Navigation pane shows to which slides each slide master applies. In this example, Slide Master 1 applies to Slides 2–7, the body of the presentation, and Slide Master 2 applies to Slide 1, the presentation title page.
