Chapter 26. PowerPoint Settings to Change > Adding More Undo Levels

Adding More Undo Levels

If you are working on a slide show and make a mistake, you can click the Undo icon in the toolbar to step backward through your last few changes. Each change is known as an undo level, and PowerPoint gives you 20 undo levels by default. You might want to be able to step back more than 20 undo levels, and you can configure this in the Options dialog box. The only disadvantage of enabling more undo levels is increased memory usage, but this shouldn’t become a problem unless your system has limited memory or the number of undo levels is set very high.

To change the number of undo levels, open the Options dialog box by selecting Tools, Options. Then click the Edit tab and set the Maximum Number of Undos value to the desired number. Then you click OK to save your changes.
