Using Tables

Tables are excellent tools for structuring text in a document, and they are also handy for organizing graphics and other document elements. If you’ve ever done any Web page development, you know that tables are the backbone of any Web page. You probably won’t create many Web pages in Word, but you will certainly find tables handy for many other types of documents—and occasionally Web pages.

Tables give you a framework in which to add text and graphics in a document. They offer good flexibility for positioning and aligning elements in a document.
