When you insert a picture in a Word document, it’s a good bet you’ll want to move, resize, or edit the image. The following sections explain how.

Moving and Resizing Images

At first, it might seem that pictures are impossible to move. The reason that this task is seemingly impossible is that Word inserts an image inline with the text. This is fine if you don’t want the text to flow around, behind, or in front of the picture, but it doesn’t work well if you want to drag the picture to a different spot on the page.
