Adding More Recently Used Files

Excel, like many other Windows applications, maintains a most recently used file list in the File menu. Excel keeps track of the last four documents you opened in Excel. You can increase or decrease this number to show more or fewer recently used documents.

To change the number of recently used documents shown in the File menu, you choose Tools, Options to open the Options dialog box and then select the General tab. You then increase or decrease the number in the Recently Used File List spin control.
