Changing How Comments Appear

By default, Excel shows a small, red triangle in the upper-right corner of a cell to indicate that the cell contains a comment. You can rest the cursor over the comment indicator to view the comment in a pop-up window.

You can change the way Excel handles comments, either hiding the comment indicator altogether or showing the indicator and comment. To change these settings, choose Tools, Options to open the Options dialog box, and then select the View tab (see Figure 22.1). You can choose one of the following options:
