Adding Sounds

Adding sounds to a slide is similar to adding pictures and movies. You can insert sounds from a file or cause a CD track to be played when the slide opens. To insert a sound, you navigate to the slide in which to insert the sound and select Insert, Movies and Sounds. Choose the source from which you will insert the sound. The following sections explain the steps for the most common types.

Inserting a Sound from a File

To insert a sound from a file, select Insert, Movies and Sounds, Sound from File to open the Insert Sound dialog box. Then you locate the sound file to insert and click OK. You are presented with a dialog box similar to the one shown in Figure 24.3. You can choose to have the sound start automatically when the slide opens or only when the sound icon is clicked. When you make your selection, the sound is inserted.
