Managing Your Day with Outlook

In a nutshell, Outlook is a personal information manager (PIM), but Outlook goes far beyond the pop-up PIMs that were so popular in the early 1990s. Most Office users spend a large portion of their time in Outlook.

Using Mail

One of the main (but certainly not only) uses for Outlook is to manage email. Outlook 2003 can handle Exchange Server, Post Office Protocol (POP3), Internet Mail Access Protocol (IMAP), and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) based mail accounts. It offers one-click configuration for Hotmail and MSN HTTP mail accounts, but it also supports other HTTP-based accounts.
