Customizing Outlook's Menu and Toolbars

Open the Tools menu and choose Customize.

The Customize dialog box opens. Click the Toolbars tab if it's not displayed already.

Check any toolbars that you want displayed in Outlook and uncheck any you want hidden.

Click the Options tab.

INTRODUCTION

If Outlook's default toolbars don't quite meet your needs, you can turn on additional ones. For example, you may want to display the Web toolbar so that you can access Web sites from within Outlook. You can also configure Outlook to track your menu usage and display only those commands you use most often rather than the complete list. (Don't worry; you can still view all available commands in a menu by clicking the down arrow at the bottom of the menu.) You can make these changes and more using the Customize dialog box.

To configure Outlook to display only those menu commands you use most often, make sure the Always Show Full Menus check box is unchecked.

Make changes as desired to how fonts are displayed, whether ScreenTips are displayed, and whether Outlook uses menu animations.

Click Close to confirm your changes.

You see the effects of your changes (short menus).
