Part 2. Creating E-mail Messages > Sending a Message to Multiple Recipients

Sending a Message to Multiple Recipients

Create a new mail message (refer to the task “Creating and Sending a New Message” for help). Then, in the Untitled Message window, click the To button.

The Select Names dialog box opens, listing all the names in your Address Book. Click the name of the first recipient in the list.

Click the To button.

The name is added to the Message Recipients list. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add more names to the To list.

INTRODUCTION

There will undoubtedly be times when you want to send the same message to several people. In that case, you can select several names from the To list. You can also add addresses to the Cc (carbon copy) and Bcc (blind carbon copy) fields. (When you add a name to the Bcc field, that name is not listed among the recipients of the message.) In this task, you'll learn how to use your Address Book to send a message to multiple recipients.

TIP

Typing Multiple Names

If you prefer to type names into the e-mail message's To field instead of using your Address Book, you can enter multiple recipients by separating each e-mail address with a semicolon.

To add a name to the Cc or Bcc list, select the name and click the Cc or Bcc button.

When you're finished adding names to the Message Recipients list, click OK.

The names are added to the To, Cc, and/or Bcc boxes in the mail message. Type a subject for the message, type the message body, and send the message as usual.
