Part 14. Getting Started with Outlook > Forwarding an Email Message

Forwarding an Email Message

Select the message to forward from the Inbox, and click the Forward button. A message window containing the original message's subject and contents opens.

Click the To button to open the Select Names dialog box, or type the recipient's email address in the message window's To field and skip to step 4.

In the Name list, click the name of the person whom you want to receive the message (to select multiple names, Ctrl+click each name you want).

Click the To button, and then click OK to add the selected name(s) to the message window's To field.

INTRODUCTION

Suppose a message you've received would be pertinent to another individual. In that case, you can forward the message to that person. It's usually a good idea to add a sentence or two to the message that explains why you're forwarding the message.

Click in the body of the message window and type your message.

Click the Send button to send your message.

Click the Sent Items folder to see whether the message was sent. (This works only if you've set your email preferences to send messages immediately.)
