Part 3. Editing Documents > Resizing and Moving Objects

Resizing and Moving Objects

To resize an object, first click the object you want to resize. Sizing handles appear around the edges of the object.

Click and drag one of the handles inward to make the object smaller or outward to make it bigger; then release the mouse button.

To move an object, click the object and drag it to the spot where you want it to appear. Release the mouse button to drop the object in its new location.

The object is moved.

INTRODUCTION

You can easily move or resize objects—such as pictures, clip art, charts, tables, text, and more—in your document, or you can move them to another location altogether. In addition to resizing and moving objects, you can cut, copy, and paste them.

TIP

Keeping the Same Proportions

Use the corner sizing handles to resize an object to increase or decrease the object's horizontal and vertical measurements proportionately. If you use the side border handles, you increase the horizontal and vertical size separately, possibly making the object look out of proportion.
