Chapter 17. Word Essentials > Word Startup Switches

Word Startup Switches

You can control how Word starts with command-line switches. These switches work from a command line, the Start/Run box, and as switches in Windows shortcuts. For example, to start Word with the /a switch enabled, click Start, Run, type winword /a in the Open box, and press Enter.

If you are frustrated because you can't get Word to start, see “Word Won't Start” in the “Troubleshooting” section at the end of this chapter.
