Chapter 39. Publisher Essentials > Working with Images

Working with Images

Many of the tools for working with images in Microsoft Publisher are the same as those used in other Office applications. In addition, Publisher has a few unique features. The Graphics Manager is particularly useful when you plan to use a commercial printer and need to ensure that the graphics are delivered along with the publication for printing. Using Publisher 2003, you can also work with images you don't yet have—you can add an empty picture placeholder for it.

Inserting Images

To insert an image in a Publisher publication, follow the same steps you would use in Word: Click where the image should go, choose Insert, Picture, and choose either Clip Art or From File. You can also insert a picture directly from an imaging device by choosing the From Scanner or Camera option. When a picture is selected, the Picture toolbar appears. The tools on this Picture toolbar are the same as those in Word and work similarly.
